We
created the first Recurve with three things in
mind: First, a low profile for ease of entry and
lowered sail area on our windy western rivers; the custom steam bent ash
gunnels are 3" lower at the bow and stern, and 8" lower in the
deepest part of the curve. The oarlock area is 1" lower than standard.
Second, full walk through access enabling you to
literally step in dry from the shore and walk all the way forward to the
front of the boat without stepping over anything. And third the tremendous
advantage of full length rod storage like no other.
Meaning no bent rods along the side, no tubes to shove your fragile
expensive rod tip into, and best of all, easy access from all areas
of the boat, either the guide seat or the front or aft
seats.
This first Recurve became the Recurve Kingfisher in the summer of 2005 and has been our best selling most versatile boat since. Now we have the distinctive steam bent gunnels available on three models: the Classic, the Guide and the Kingfisher.
16' Recurve Classic ™ – Weight: 300lbs. Beam at chine: 49". Beam at oarlocks: 73".
16' Recurve Guide ™ – Weight: 325lbs. Beam at chine: 57". Beam at oarlocks: 75". 17' Recurve Kingfisher ™ – Weight: 350lbs. Beam at chine: 58". Beam at oarlocks: 75". All Recurve models feature our typical high quality kevlar reinforced honeycomb bottom and mahogany side panels, as well as our standard options shown in the chart below.
