Boatbuilders offers the most complete plans and kits available
anywhere.
Our plans include over 60
pages of step by step instructions. From setting up your workspace and
choosing helpful tools, to detailed instructions for building seats,
dryboxes, steam bent knee braces and laminated, curved parts, these
plans will walk you through the process of building your perfect boat.
The clear and concise drawings pages are all formatted to fit on 8 1/2 x
11 sheets and come in a handy binder for easy access.
Kits:
Our kits include
precision cut plywood and dimensional pieces with
pre-cut scarfs. All the necessary wood, epoxy,
fiberglass and screws are included along with a starter kit of
mixing sticks and cups, rubber gloves, brushes and rollers and squeegee.
You provide sanding paper, paint, varnish, and basic tools required such
as a handsaw, screwgun and router to round over your edges. Some models
will require more skill and time than others, but all are
designed for the first time builder and the
instructions are easy to understand in non technical
terms.
Plans versus Kits:
If you are a complete
woodworking novice, have limited time, or simply want some steps done
for you, we highly recommend purchasing a kit over plans alone.
With the kit, we have done many of the more difficult steps
including scarfs and rounded cuts, for you. In addition, the
kit includes most of the necessary materials such as fiberglass and
epoxy and plywood, in the required amounts at great prices, saving you
the hassle of ordering from many different suppliers and paying
individual shipping on materials. This allows you to get started
building sooner rather than spending hours on the phone arranging
shipments. Many times, our kit price is less than the price of
ordering all the parts separately. Kits may also be custom ordered if you would like
to modify your own boat.

Forum:
We also have a web based bulletin board that
allows builders to interact with other builders of our boats. This forum
has several highly experienced people who regularly take part and is a
fun way to both ask questions and answer them. If you have a question
about our kits or plans, please don't hesitate to drop us an email for more information.
