The design:

The Kingfisher is our latest kit based on our custom boat designs. The hull is a full 16’ long in a straight line down the middle. The boat features three ‘pedestal’ seat bases with both the front and aft pedestals having dry storage while the center rowing seats is open. The boat is designed around two ten foot rod holders which are built into large side decks, enabling up to 9’6” rods to be stored in a straight line with no tubes to force the rod into. The rods may be put in from the front or back or even from the rowing seat. On each large side deck there is are two hatch openings accessing a large dry storage area; large enough to store long handled nets or even rod tubes.

The Kingfisher hull is designed to have a minimal amount of rocker making it very stable and very high floating. The boat will turn quickly but also has a large wetted surface area allowing it to draft very little water. With an average load of three adults and gear the boat will pass through 6” of water easily.

The design incorporates our elegant steam bent knee braces in the front and rear for stable stand up casting. Stepping over the aft knee brace is easy to do, enabling access both front and rear.

The standard kit: $3975.00

• The kit features high quality marine Okoume 1088 grade plywood for the side panels and interior bulkheads. The standard ½” plywood bottom is either Aquatek or Birch.
• All interior hardwoods for trim structure and seats are high quality white oak, fir and mahogany. Northern white ash is standard for the gunnels.
• A full kit of all required System Three Silvertip non-blushing epoxy, fiberglass, fillers and a starter kit of gloves, brushes, rollers, squeegee and mixing cups, plus the System Three Epoxy Manual.
• A hardware kit including two bronze drain plugs, stainless boweye, bronze oarlocks sockets and oarlocks, ash oars, and sleeves, 6 cup holders, stainless square drive screws in required sizes.
• Full 70 page step by step instruction manual with photographs and detailed drawings.
